President Bola Tinubu is a man of empathy who is committed to opening the Presidency to Nigerians for the benefit of all, according to Ajuri Ngelale, the newly appointed Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
Ngelale said he humbly accepted the appointment to serve as Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity and as the official spokesperson of the President and will work around the clock to ensure effective communication with Nigerians and the rest of the world. Ngelale took over the role of the presidential spokesman on Monday from Dele Alake, who is now a ministerial nominee.
In order to be held accountable for carrying out the President’s promises regarding the implementation of government policies, he asserts that it is in the best interest of all public office holders to be aware that they are being watched. Accordingly, “we are going to, in a very shortly order, announce a series of very tangible measures that have to do with the opening up of this institution on a daily basis in a deeper and more comprehensive way than has ever been seen before.”
“We believe it is the right of every Nigerian to have full access to the affairs of the Presidential Villa, the affairs of the office of the President and office of the Vice President, and the affairs of the National Assembly,”
“We will be more transparent than ever before in terms of giving radio networks, television networks, newspapers, and online news media access to information.
In terms of how we interact with Nigerians through the press, we are dedicated to making sure that there is a zero tolerance policy for every spokesperson and media functionary who works here in the government.
“By the grace of God, the days when government spokespeople would talk down to Nigerians, use derogatory language toward Nigerians, or exhibit institutional arrogance toward Nigerians are long gone. That would not take place while I am in charge.
