President Bola Ahmed Tinubu asserts that while he recognizes the hardship caused by the removal of fuel subsidies, the decision was made with the best interests of the nation in mind, particularly in terms of ensuring future prosperity.
Then, he pledged to fight the economy’s major imbalances and end the system of preferential exchange rates, which were crucial to the fight because it would ultimately determine our country’s faith.
As he also came to power to help the country and not harm its citizens, he came to the conclusion that there were no other options or measures to take besides eliminating the subsidy.
