A Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on Tuesday, July 11, sentenced a 30-year-old man, Vincent Jeffrey Ehizojie, to d£ath by h@nging for k#lling his employer, Olusola Olusoga, the owner of Etashol Hotel and Suites and the manager of the hotel, Tunji Omikunle.
Delivering judgment, Justice Oyindamola Ogala held that the prosecution has proved its case beyond reasonable doubts.
Vincent, who at the time of the crime was working as a supervisor in the hotel, was arraigned before the court on a two-count charge bordering on m¥rder.
The court heard that Ehizojie committed the offence on January 25, 2019 at about 3 a.m. at 42, Budland Street, Ojodu-Berger, Lagos where the hotel was located.
He was said to had conspired with other persons still at large, to st£al from the hotel manager and owner but ended up str@ngling them to d£ath.
The judge held that the crux of the case of the prosecution was premised on the confessional statement of the convict as well as circumstantial evidence.
Justice Ogala stated that he had carefully considered the retracted defence statement (admitted as evidence), which showed where Ehizojie stated that one of the hotel staff, Henry, had informed him that he observed that the owner of the hotel kept much money at home…(continue reading from NEXT slide)
