Delta police nab suspected car thi£f who posed as a buyer and absconded with a N55m Benz during a test drive in Abuja

The Delta State Police Command has arrested a suspect identified as Meshack Sinupro, who posed as an intending buyer and absconded with an N55m Mercedes Benz SUV during a test drive in Abuja.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday, July 6, 2023, said Sinuphro specializes in st£aling vehicles while pretending to be a buyer.

According to the PPRO, the suspect was arrested in Benin City, Edo State while the stolen car was recovered in a bush along Oteri road, in Ughelli North.

“Sequel to a complaint received on 3/7/2023 at about 1700hours from a car dealer in Abuja whose vehicle was stol£n from his car stand by the suspect who disguised as intending buyer and absconded with the said vehicle during a test drive on 30/6/2023 in Abuja.

Armed with available intelligence, operatives of the CP-Decoy Squad stormed Ughelli town at about 0115hours of 3/7/2023 and recovered the said Mercedes Benz SUV abandoned in a bush along Oteri road by Doctors Quarters Ughelli North LGA. Serious manh¥nt for the suspect is ongoing,” the statement reads.

In an update statement, the PPRO noted that “The suspect, Meshack Sinuphro, who allegedly stol£ the Benz at Abuja while pretending to be a buyer, has been arrested by the Command Decoy squad today in Benin city. The suspect will be transferred to FCT command soonest. Always report crim£s to the police, and we will always deliver.”
