Ex-Presidential spokesman to Buhari on Media, Garba Shehu has defended his boss of some of his policies during his administration, as he revealed that the ex-president restrained himself from removing the fuel subsidy in the interest of their political interests in the 2023 general elections.
He stated that current president, Bola Tinubu might have lost the election if Buhari had removed subsidies close to the time of the elections, as he admitted it was a strategic decision to help the APC win.
