A 32-year-old man, identified as Daniel Udoh, has been remanded at Olokuta Correctional Centre over alleged s+xual ab¥se and expl%itation of a 3-year-old girl by a family court in Oke-Eda, Akure, Ondo State.
He was charged before the court on one count for s+xual ab¥se. He, however, pleaded not guilty.
According to Prosecuting police officer, Martins Olowofeso, the defendant s+xually ab¥sed and expl%ited the 3-year-old minor (name withheld) in his apartment on Monday, June 12, 2023.
Olowofeso noted that the defendant lured the victim to his room where he unlawfully took advantage of her.
“The victim’s mother, who heard her daughter crying, rushed to the scene and met the defendant mol£§ting the little girl,” the prosecutor said.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes Sections 32(a) Child’s Rights Law, 2006.
The Magistrate, Folashade Aduroja, remanded the defendant at Olokuta correctional facility, pending when the case would come up for mention.
