He explained that he was working night shifts and that his plan was to take his car to the mechanic the following morning so that it could be fixed in time for his next night shift.
However, the office receptionist informed him as he was leaving for work in the morning that the company would be celebrating Father’s Day with a surprise, and since he was a father, he should stay behind to join them. He agreed to this. He claimed that after calling his wife to let her know of her whereabouts, he went to drop off his car at the mechanic’s before heading back to work to celebrate Father’s Day.
However, when he returned to work, he claimed that the company had asked all fathers to congregate in a hall, where they had heard their manager explain that this was a practice followed by all of the company’s branches worldwide.
He said that upon saying this, he was anticipating a sizable gift from the company but to his greatest surprise, they were given an exercise book with the inscription “Brilliant husband are really the best” on it and also asked to queue for a larger package. He jumped to the front of the line and upon dipping his hand into the gift box, he realized it was a package flower this left him an¥ry to how the company had wasted his time over an exercise book and a flower.
