The Nigeria Police Force raided the former governor’s home early on Friday, seizing more than 40 vehicles in the process.
In response to a court order, the police carried out the operation and secured a search warrant. Note that the former governor Bello Matawalle and his deputy received a formal request from the Zamfara State Government to retrieve all missing vehicles within five (5) working days.
We have made a formal complaint to the police about the wasteful theft of valuables, including government cars, which we believe to be in the public’s best interest.
As a result, the Police requested a search warrant, which the court subsequently approved, and raided Matawalle’s home in Gusau, the Maradun Local Government, and another undisclosed hiding place.
Three bulletproof cars and eight SUVs were among the more than 40 vehicles that were found.
