Excitement filled the air as president Buhari took president-elect, Bola Tinubu, on a tour of Aso Villa.
President-elect Bola Tinubu was given a tour of the Presidential Villa in Abuja by the President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retired), the current president, on Friday.
Around 1:18 pm, Buhari and Tinubu made their way to the Press Gallery after attending the Jummah prayers at the Aso Villa Mosque.
As both men left the Aso Chambers waiting area, Buhari said to Tinubu, “This is the Gallery where you will be meeting members of the press.”
Only a day earlier, in the State House Banquet Hall, the President had awarded Kashim Shettima, the vice president-elect, the national honors of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic and Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger to Tinubu.
Shettima was given a tour of the Vice President Wing of the State House on Thursday by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
In advance of the formal transfer of power on Monday, May 29, 2023, both leaders exchanged paperwork.
