Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian has said she wishes people were more “honest” about the realities of surrogacy.
It would be recalled that Khloe welcomed her son via surrogate last July, with her ex-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, who is also father to their daughter, True.
Just weeks following their embryo transfer in November 2021, the TV star learned that Thompson had secretly fathered a child with fitness model Maralee Nichols. Khloe explained that she found her surrogacy experience difficult amid the fallout with Thompson during a frank conversation with her sister Kim Kardashian and Scott Disick.
She confessed that her bond with her young son was yet to blossom but also acknowledged it can take time, alluding to Thompson’s scandal, and clarified that it had “nothing to do with the baby
“A surrogate process, Kim (her sister) knows, is very h@rd for me. It’s a mindf***. It is really the weirdest thing, I do feel less connected. People do say it takes a minute to feel connected but Kim said hers was easy. This is not easy.
I definitely was in a state of sh%ck from my entire experience in general. I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby and I take the baby and go to another room and you are separated. It felt like such a transactional experience because it is not about him. I wish someone was honest about surrogacy and the difference of it. But it doesn’t mean it is bad or good. It is just very different,” she said.
