Unknown g¥nmen have reportedly k#lled two policemen and two staff of the United States Consulate during an att@ck along Atani, Osamale road in Ogbaru LGA of Anambra State.
The US Embassy staff were said to be on a humanitarian mission in the area when the g¥nmen amb¥shed their convoy and sh%t four people d€ad at about 3:30pm on Tuesday, May 16.
The PPRO in the state, Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement said the police engaged the hoodlums in a sh%%t-out, adding that two security operatives were abd¥cted.
According to him, “The joint security forces have embarked on a rescue/recovery operation in Ogbaru LGA, following an att@ck on a convoy of staff of U.S. Consulate on May 15, 2023, by 3:30 p.m. along Atani-Osamale Road.
Also, the m¥rderers on sighting the responding joint security forces, abd¥cted two police operatives, the driver of the second vehicle and took to their heels. No U S citizen was in the convoy.”
