The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a young man, identified as Owate Bode, for allegedly h@cking his mom to d£ath in Aleto community, Eleme LGA of the state.
It was gathered that the unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Speaking shortly after his arrest, the suspect said he asked his mom to withdraw N20,000 from his account because he wanted to buy clothes that he was going to wear to the funeral ceremony of his mom’s late friend.
However, after withdrawing the said money from his account, the suspect said his mom gave him N10,000 and hid the rest. He also accused her of raining c¥rses on him and calling him names when he insisted on getting the whole money she withdrew from his account.
He said he got angry and decided to ‘fini§h’ her by h#tting her on the head with a ho€, which led to her d£ath.
The command’s image maker, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the suspect arrest in a statement on Sunday, May 14.
