Lagos police officers seen a$$aulting a man for allegedly refusing to open his phone during a stop-and-search

A team of police officers have been captured a$$aulting a young man who allegedly refused to open his phone during a stop-and-search in Oko Oba area of Lagos State.

It was gathered that the unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, May 3, 2023.

According to the victim, he was driving with his friend when the police stopped them and with ‘no tangible reason’ demanded to search their phones.

When he refused, he was dr@gged and a$$aulted by at least three policemen, two in uniforms and one in mufti, as seen in the video clips the victim shared online.

In one of the videos, two of the officers were holding the young man as the third officer sl@pped him from behind. They were also seen dr@gging the young man across the street.

Meanwhile, reacting to the videos, the spokesperson of the Nigerian Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, asked the image maker of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, to investigate and fist out the officers.
