The Nigerian army has arrested one of its officers, identified as Sgt U. Joseph, in connection with the m¥rder of a police sergeant in Benisheikh town, Borno State.
It was gathered that the deceased police officer, identified as Ahmed Ali, was sh%t d£ad by some soldiers after his team intercepted the suspect in a military vehicle conveying Indian hemp.
The unfortunate incident occurred at the town’s entry checkpoint around 10am on Monday, April 17, 2023.
DailyTrust reports that the soldier, driving in an ash-coloured Acura sport utility vehicle with the registration number FKJ 761 AR, b£at a security checkpoint and refused to stop despite a warning from the Police.
According to a source, “His refusal to stop prompted the crack police team to sh%%t at his tyre, which forced him to stop; but in an effort to drive the vehicle to Benisheikh police station, Sgt Ali was sh@t d£ad by the soldiers.
The soldier carrying the Indian hemp, identified as Sgt U. Joseph, along with his other colleagues, tried to stop the Crack Squad from confiscating the vehicle, which led to the sh%%ting and Sgt Ali who was reversing with the vehicle got k#lled by the b¥llet.”
The suspect is currently under the custody of the military, while the vehicle is parked at the Benisheikh police station.
