A man identified as Chibuike Okafor has reportedly passed on after he sl¥mped at a police station in Awka, Anambra State.
According to a source, the deceased had issues with police officers, Inspector Nzegwu Joseph and SP Kennedy kelechi Otti, who are attached to B’Division Awka.
It was gathered that the police officers allegedly tôrt¥red Chibuike till he sl¥mped. He was rushed to Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Awka, where he was pronounced d£ad.
“This happened recently. They arrested the boy and tort¥red him. Even when his mother visited the police station to plead on her son’s behalf, they chased her away. Now that the boy has di£d, they’re claiming he was caught with a g¥n and an ângry môb b£at him up, which are lies from the pit of h£ll.
We also heard that the Divisional police officer has written to the Commissioner of Police in the state alleging that Chibuike was an armed r%bber. Please, we need justice for the boy’s mother. The Anambra state government needs to put an end to police br¥tality,” a source familiar with the incident reports.
