Two security guards, Ayuba Idris and Tasur Abubakar, have been sentenced to d£ath by h@nging for the 2019 m¥rder of their boss, Kwakye Kwaku Richard, 71, and his daughter, Kwakye Tope, 27, in Akure, Ondo State.
The duo were sentenced to d£ath after they were found guilty of the charges against them by Ondo State High Court in Akure on Tuesday, February 14.
They were also sentenced to seven years imprisonment for conspiracy.
Recall that the two men m¥rdered the father and daughter in their home on May 1, 2019, at Ojomo Akintan Estate, Olufoam in Akure.
The duo, who were the security guards of the deceased, had confessed to k#lling the father and the daughter with motorcycle cables under the influence of tr@madol and other d@ngerous dr¥gs, revealing that they str@ngled them to d£ath.
Delivering the judgement, Justice Williams Olamide said the prosecution failed to prove two of the count charges convicts and subsequently discharged and acquitted them.
Olamide, however, said the convicts are guilty of the offence of conspiracy contained and therefore sentenced them to seven years imprisonment.
On the charges that they were found guilty, the judge sentenced them to d£ath by h@nging by the neck until they are d£ad.
