Lagos pastor bags life imprisonment for r@ping and impregnating two teenage sisters

A 51-year-old Lagos Pastor, Nduka Anyanwu, who pleaded guilty to d£filing and impregnating two teenage sisters in August 2020, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an Ikeja s#xual offences and domestic viol€nce court.

Judge Abiola Soladoye sentenced him on Tuesday, February 14, for impregnating the two sisters, aged 13 and 17 years old, both of whom have given birth.

The convict was said to have d£filed the two sisters on the pretext of holding prayer sessions at a church complex in Oshodi in August  2020.

The judge held that the evidence presented against the convict was convincing and consistent.

Soladayo described the convict as morally-bankrupt, adding that his name should be published in the state’s s#xoffenders’ register.

The judge said the police ought to have charged the parents of the victims/survivors alongside the convict. She described the parents as irresponsible, saying that they encouraged the survivors to get d£filed by the defendant.

“On several occasions, one of the survivors went back to the parents to complain about the conduct of the defendant. She was b€aten and sent back to the defendant’s home.

The prosecution has proved the ingredients of the offences against the morally-bankrupt defendant,” the Judge said.
