Just In: Gov. Adeleke rejects tribunal verdict, heads to Appeal Court

The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has rejected the ruling of the election tribunal that annulled his victory at the June 16, 2022 governorship poll.

The parliament on Friday, January 27, declared his opponent, Adegboyega Oyetola of APC, the winner of the election stating that he polled 314, 921 as against Adeleke’s 290, 266 votes.

Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in his reaction, described the judgement as “a mi§carriage of justice” adding that it is “an unfair interpretation against the will of majority of voters”.

“I call on our people to remain calm. We will appeal the judgement and we are sure justice will be done. Let our people be reassured that we will do everything possible to retain this widely acclaimed mandate,” he added.
