Family seeks justice after their Landlord’s Rottweiler almost k#lled their 8-month-old son in Ogun State

An 8-month-old boy is writhing in p@ins after being bitten by a Rottweiler dog in a compound at No 44 Ayobami street, Lambe, Akute, Ogun State.

It was gathered that the unfortunate incident happened on Sunday, December 4. According to the father of the victim, the dog belongs to their landlord and is normally released at midnight to guard the compound.

“I’m living in a flat and our landlord also stays in the compound. We’re aware that he has a wild dog which he said he bought for security purposes. He told us that the dog would be released at midnight everyday. We understood this and have been avoiding coming in contact with the pet.

So, the landlord’s son was to feed the dog in the afternoon and didn’t chain it. My wife was in-front of our apartment with our son when she saw the dog running towards her. She stood up and the dog jumped at her and grabbed the leg of our son. I was busy inside when I heard her screaming for help that the dog had pinned our son to the ground and bitten him. I quickly rushed out to see for myself and hit the dog with a stick and started chasing it in a bid to k#ll it.

We quickly rushed our child to the hospital and luckily enough, the nurses on duty were quick to treat my child else he’d have d#ed. Then, I went to the police station to lodge a complaint and subsequently the landlord’s son was arrested as his father was nowhere to be found. Later, the police officials advised me to pack out of the house because it was likely nothing tangible will be done about my case.”
