Media personality Samuel-Wemimo has urged his compatriots to do better as he recounts his experience.
He said he was in Dubai and needed to buy a bag to carry his luggages, he entered a shop manned by Nigerians but they added 100 Duran to the price of the bag claiming it was for tax, he confronted that the other shop he let did asked him for that, so they told him it was part of the hustle and he ended up buying it at normal price.
Few shops from there was another Nigerian woman selling cosmetics and lace fabrics he had no intention of buying anything from her, but the woman offered to come visit him in the evening after close of work since he did travel with his wife. He frank at this, but when the woman explained her bills and she regretted leaving Nigeria for Dubai, he had no option but to buy something’s from her.
He left for UK a few month ago and at the Heathrow airport, he was told to fill permission to travel form again, so he went to fill the form. On his return the lady begin him was shouting that he should go to the back and join the queue. This got the attention of the security officer but she refused to let the situation go as she kept abusing her in Yoruba. This lady in question is not traveling was accompanied her mother to the airport. Regardless of this he still helped the mother and she prayed for him
So we all have a responsibility in painting Nigeria in a good light.
