A man has called out Port Harcourt-based hospital over alleged medical negligence.
He said is wife was pregnant and has passed her EDD when she was told by the doctor that if after a week she did fall into labor naturally she would be induced manually. Before the end of the week she fell to labor and when she got to the hospital she has dilated to 5cm, so she was told to reach 10 cm before she can push this happened around 12am.
When it was 2am, the doctor rupture the membrane, by 5am the doctor came and said the baby is in distress and has defecated in the mother’s womb so urgent surgery was needed. The man and his wife agreed to the procedure but the doctor kept dragging foot till 6am, the he approached him but he told him all was under control.
At 8:15am the woman walked into the theater and by 11am the man was told that his wife has d@ed after they gave her injections to prepare her for the operation and they did nothing to save the life of the baby as the baby was left in the mother womb with nobody attending to them or even to sympathize with them.
