Two years after a Nigerian man was declared wanted for m¥rder in Canada, police arrest him in an expensive neighborhood in London

A Nigerian man identified as Usman Kassim, 41, who has been on Canada’s mosr wanted list for an alleged drive-by sh@@ting in Toronto, has been found in London.

It is reported that the drive-by sh@@ting happened in 2020. The police in Canada described him as a ‘vi#lent, armed and d@ngerous’ individual who they have been on the hunt for since he fled the country more than two years ago.

Daily Mail reports that Kassim was found in an expensive, new tower block in Battersea, South London. The apartments, which can cost up to £1 million, are kitted out with communal facilities including a swimming pool, rooftop terrace and spa.

His affluent neighbours had no idea they were living in the midst of a fugitive, The Mirror reports. Kassim has since been arrested by British police officers and was taken to Hammersmith Police Station in West London on Tuesday where he faces an extradition proceeding.

Police in Canada have said Kassim was driving a grey SUV when he fired his g¥n at two people in another car in April 2020 but missed. No details of the motive for the att@ck were revealed.

At the time of his sh@@ting a £30,000 reward was being offered for his capture as he was wanted for other crimes including hara§§ment, a§§ault and breaching a prohibition order.

It is also reported that while he was on the run in October last year, a woman said he held her at gunpoint in a car park, thre@tened her and drove her to a nearby petrol station. Police found Kassim at the scene, but he managed to escape after ramming the police car.He then fled the country.

The International Criminal Police Organisation, known as Interpol, was sent an alert after he fled, asking police forces across the world to help capture him. On Monday, the fugitive appeared at Westminster magistrates court by video link where he faced extradition proceeding for 10 charges – including the two m¥rder attempts. He will remain in custody until he reappears in court next week.
