Mr Femi Adesina , the special advice to the president on media and publicity has declared that some people deliberately went bl§nd and de@f and lost memory to deny President Buhari’s achievements
He said it’s truth the nation is having challenges with the security but will soon be over however, this government has done some good which people are not talking about.
The government in 2017 enacted an acts that created the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, which provided engagement of Nigerians in diaspora in the policies, projects and participation in the development of Nigeria.
Through this agency of government, about 25 billion dollars was remitted in year 2019 and in 2020 it was 17 billion dollar due to Covid-19, while in 2021 it was 20 billion dollars. These are the ones done through the official means while there are others that are not official.
The significance of these diaspora remittances should strike home better, when you compare it to what the country gets through Foreign Direct Investment. In 2021, it was 4.8 billion dollars, compared to 20 billion. Diaspora Home Remittances, are, therefore four times our FDI, and contribute about 6.1% of our annual GDP.
Also the commission is responsible for bring willing Nigerians from South Africa, Libya, Lebanon,
Ukraine, and other places, promptly back home, not minding cost
