There was tension in Umueghu in Amaegbuato autonomous community in the Nkpa Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, on Sunday, after some residents b@und and fl@gged a widow, Mrs. Amarachi Okechi, with wh#ps and sticks for allegedly being a w§#ch.
A di§turbing video of the incident posted on social media shows the widow sitting on the floor with her hands ti€d behind her. Her legs were also b@und with rope.
The widow, who wore a gown and a light blue hair tie was being fl@gged by young men while scores of people in the crowd j€€red at her.
As a result of the h@rrible incident, the victim’s daughter, Onyinyechi, has taken to Facebook to express how she felt seeing her mom being treated that way. “She is my mom and was accused by my uncle’s wife for being a w§#ch which she’s not and they decided to k#ll my mom for me, friends I’ve been in tears since Tuesday till now, I came all the way from Lagos down to Umuahia and I couldn’t recognize my own mom, chai obi agbawalam ???????? am in severe p@in but no wahala God dey. I want r€venge,” her statement read in part.
It is reported that the victim was rescued by the Abia State Governor’s wife with the help of activist Harrison Gwamnishu. According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Wife of the Governor of Abia State, Mr Chika Ojiegbe, the victim is currently recovering medical treatment and that the perpetrators will face the full wrath of the law.
