Just In: Total Blackout looms as Electricity workers embark on strike, shut down operations in Nigeria

The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) on Wednesday, August 17, shut down operations in Abuja, Kaduna and other states as they embarked on a nationwide strike.

The workers under the aegis of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) is protesting the non-payment of outstanding arrears owed to former workers of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), suspension of conditions of service and career path for workers, among others.

In a trending video the workers were seen shutting down the Abuja Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) station.
