11-yr-old student’s throat sl!t by senior for refusing to run errands in Borno

Jubril Sadi Mato (Ramadan), an 11-year-old pre-Junior student of Elkenemi College of Islamic Theology, Maiduguri, Borno State, is now in a critical condition at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the University
of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) after his throat was sl!t with razor blade by an SS2 student (name withheld) of the college for refusing his errand.

It is reported that on Jan 16, the senior student had sent Ramadan on an errand at night, but he refused to go. Following the victim’s refusal, the SS2 student came to pick him up, took him to a secluded place and used a razor blade to severely sl!t his neck.

Jubril was rushed to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) as he laid critical at the Intensive Care Unit(ICU); the perpetrator, reportedly high on psychotropic substances, was subsequently arrested and handed over to police station for further investigations.

According to ICIR, the victim was the son of Late Justice Sadi Mato of Federal High Court Kano State. His Mother, Hajiya Aisha, later married a Director with Yobe State Government ( name withheld).
