A robbery suspect, Biodun Rasheed, who reportedly dressed like a herder, has been arrested in Ogun State. The operatives of the Ogun Police Command arrested him during a robbery operation.
According to the Police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Thursday, the suspect is believed to be a member of an armed robbery syndicate. He said that the social miscreants were said to have been operating at Mile 6 area on Ajebo Road in Abeokuta, the Ogun State at about 3:30am on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, when information got to police operatives at Kemta Division.
Following the distress call, the police in conjunction with men of So Safe Corps and vigilante group of Nigeria, visited the scene. “On sighting the security men, the robbers took to their heels, but they were chased and one of them Biodun Rasheed, who dressed like Fulani herdsmen to hid his identity was arrested on the spot,” he said.
Oyeyemi said the suspect “is currently helping the police in their efforts to apprehend the remaining members of the gang.”
