Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has inaugurated a six-man Independent Panel to investigate all issues surrounding the Ikoyi building collapse and to forestall future occurrences.
The six-man panel is led by the former Lagos Commissioner for Physical planning and the President of Nigeria Institute of Town Planners (NITP), Toyin Ayinde.
The governor, who was at the scene of the collapsed building told newsmen that the panel had 30 days to submit its report of the collapsed building.
Sanwo-Olu also said that an executive order would be signed to give legal backing to the Panel of Inquiry set up to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the accident.
While visiting the victims at the hospital on Thursday morning, November 4, promised that the victims will get the best of medical attention. And restated his determination to ensure that as many people as possible are rescued alive from the rubble.
