Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Aba, Abia State, have been accused of r*ping an 18-year-old female student of the Abia State Polytechnic.
According to students of the institution, who staged a protest on Thursday, September 23, RRS officers arrested six of their colleagues on Wednesday, but later released five of them, leaving an 18-year-old girl behind.
According to a student, “They arrested three young boys and three girls at a lodge close to the school yesterday. They took them to their station and after ext*rtion, they released all except one girl.
The girl was later found hospitalized and according to her, she was r*ped by three officers. She’s still in the hospital as I speak and is said to be in critical condition.
The semester examination earlier scheduled to commence today has be postponed till further notice due to the protest.”
