Four suspected serial k*llers who specialize in robbing and k*lling point of sale (POS) operators and cabbie in Ogun State, have been arrested.
According to the police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspects, Kehinde Saliu Jelili aka Oluomo, Abiodun Akinola, Johnson Fakeye and Jamiu Akinola were all arrested following a report of a missing POS operator, Abiodun Odebunmi.
It is reported that Abiodun had on April 17, had gone to meet Kehinde with a cash sum of N4m to be used for POS transaction. His POS attendant filed the police report after frantic efforts to reach him proved abortive.
Police detectives swung into action and found his d*ad and bu*nt body in an uncompleted building at Arobieye area of Ota without the trace of his assailants. Further investigation led the detectives to Otun Ekiti in Ekiti State, where the suspect was discovered to be hibernating.
Kehinde ran to Kwara and then Benin Republic where he attended Sunday Igboho’s hearing. An ambush was laid for him on the day of his return and he was arrested, he confessed to the crime and revealed he deliberately lured the victim to Ota in Ogun State, where he and his gang members were waiting for him with the money he was asked to bring.
“They matcheted him to de*th after collecting the money from him. He stated further that they bu*nt the victim’s body in order to cover their tracks. He confessed further that their targeted victims are always cabbie and POS Operators.” [Swipe for GRAPHIC content]
