The police in Accra, Ghana, have arrested and charged a Nigerian driver, Emeka Adams, 42, with the murder of a 27-year-old teacher, Alice Adamtey, after he knocked her down with his vehicle and abandoned her in a bush at Abokobi leading to her death.
The suspect is alleged to have knocked the teacher down with a car and later abandoned her at an unknown location to die.
A 42-year-old unlicensed Nigerian man, Emeka Adams, has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 27-year-old teacher in Accra, Ghana.
It was gathered that the suspect, on June 7, 2021, at about 7pm, knocked Alice Adamtey down with his vehicle, and later abandoned her at a bush to die.
According to the police, the suspect was arrested on Wednesday, June 17, 2021, and is being processed for court on the charge of murder.
The police spokesperson, DSP Mrs Effia Tenge, in a statement on Thursday, June 17, said after knocking down the teacher, the suspect picked her up under the pretext of taking her to a health facility for treatment.
However, she said police investigations showed that the suspect allegedly abandoned the teacher in a bush at Abokobi, instead of taking her to the hospital. Her body was later found in the bush at Abokobi.
