COVID-19: We’re running out of treatment facilities – FG cries out

The Federal Government says the country has reached a critical level where the hospital capacity will no longer be able to cope with more serious COVID-19 cases.

The Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, on Monday, July 11, said this comes as the country records over 100,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 1,300 deaths.

While urging citizens to take precautions in containing the spread of the virus, Ihekweazu, who spoke at the PTF briefing in Abuja, said health workers may be forced to make tough decisions.

“We need to protect our more vulnerable citizens. We all have to take responsibility, this is not for NCDC, PTF or government alone,” he said.
