The Ogun State Police Command have arrested one Ishola Olatunji, 77, for allegedly defiling a 7-year-old girl in Iperu area of the state.
The command’s spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Saturday, said the suspect was arrested on September 22, 2020, following a complaint by the child’s mother.
The mother alleged the suspect lured the minor into his room and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
Oyeyemi said the suspect has made a confessional statement admitting the commission of the offence.
