RMRDC boss, Prof Ibrahim, for listing kilishi technology as achievement

The Director-General of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Professor Hussain Ibrahim, has listed Kilishi production as part of its research breakthrough in 33years.


Speaking on Tuesday, Professor Ibrahim, told the Senate committee on science and technology that kilishi, a locally spiced roasted meat, popular in the north, is an outstanding achievement for the agency. .

According to Vanguard, the chairman of the Senate committee, Uche Ekwunife had asked the DG to tell the panel what specific raw material the agency had successfully developed in the areas of health, brewery, construction, science, and technology, or agriculture.

In his response, Ibrahim said the council has discovered two varieties of Sorghum through a successful partnership with the institute of agriculture. .

“In our 30 years of research activities, we are still the largest research Institute. But to be candid with you, we are making progress. .

“For now, we have developed technology to optimise Kilishi production. Research activities take time,” he stated. .
