Policemen attached to Warri Area Command have apprehended the Founder and General Overseer of Victory Revival Fasting and Prayer Ministry, Bishop Elijah Orhonigbe, for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl inside his church hall in Warri, Delta State.
It was gathered that the horrid incident happened on Wednesday, May 20, , 2020, during a deliverance session inside the church hall. It’s reported that the pastor had drugged the victim before defiling her.
According to the State Police Spokesperson , ACP Mohammed Muktar Garba, the cleric was arrested following a complaint by the mother of the victim at his office. .
He noted that the mother of the victim, is a member of the church where her daughter was allegedly raped by the said bishop. He added that all medical examinations conducted on the victim proved that she was raped .
The culprit who went into hiding , was nabbed on June 5, 2020, and has been in police detention . He was charged to court today.
