After initially being rescued, Lagos police return house help to her abusive boss

A 10-year-old girl, identified as Ajara Elegbede, was yesterday, ‪Wednesday, 1st April, 2020‬, returned to her abusive boss after she was rescued by neighbors who overheard her screaming for help.

Ajara who serves as a help to a teacher, identified as Mrs. Omotayo ,was rescued from the maltreatment she faced from her in their house at No 10, Omotosho Close,Igando, Lagos.

According to a source : “This isn’t the first time we the neighbors are  hearing the little girl scream for help while her boss continuously beat her. So yesterday ,we had to gather to find out what the reason was for her maltreating her maid.

We saw the maid in a terrible condition and when we queried her boss as to why the girl’s face was ladened with scars , she kept saying the girl fell down hence the injuries . .

While we were taking Ajara out of the compound, she kept screaming for us to leave her alone for fear that her boss would beat her if she spoke up against the maltreatment she was receiving on a daily basis .

We invited the police and Mrs. Omotayo was whisked away only for us to discover she was released later and Ajara given back to her. We want the appropriate authorities to come to this little girl’s aid.” [Swipe]
