5-year-old girl and her pregnant mom die in building collapse in Ogun

The tragic incident occurred yesterday in Onifufu/Aderupagba Compound, Oke-Ijeun, Abeokuta, Ogun State, after a dilapidated mud building collapsed when Kafayat Somoye, who was said to be three-month pregnant, was reportedly taking her children, Ganiyat and Ganiyu, to school.

Eyewitness said that the wall, which was weakened by a heavy rain on Wednesday, collapsed on them but Ganiyu escaped while he mother and Ganiyat were trapped under the rubble. Kafayat was initially rescued alive, but later died while being rushed to the hospital. Cc: PremiumTimes
