Suleiman Ibrahim Musa, Bilyaminu Usman and Lawal Suleiman were today sentenced to 55, 7 and 29 years imprisonment respectively without an option of fine, on a 16-count charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery, theft and
criminal breach of trust. The charges were brought against them by EFCC. They’re former staff of FinBank Plc now First City Monument Bank Plc. The crimes were committed between 2008 and 2010. .
Musa, who was then the head of operations, defrauded the bank of N101m; Usman and Suleiman, both tellers, defraud the bank of N6.6m and N6.2m respectively. They had at different times debited the bank’s customers by carrying out unauthorized withdrawals. .
They were arrested following a petition by the bank’s management, after several customers lodged complaints alleging fraudulent deductions from their bank accounts. The jail terms are to run concurrently. They’re also to return the stolen money…… they’ll b out by d year 2070. They all thanked God they weren’t sentenced to life in jail…..
