Dr. Angela Uwakwem, the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Center Owerri, Imo State, was sacked by the FG after several weeks of protests by the staff of the hospital. Prior to her sack, she had been in the news over
the poor running of the hospital. The staff accused her of nepotism, occult practices within the hospital premises, high handiness and enriching herself from the coffers of the Medical Center.
She was eventually sacked on Monday. The announcement stimulated massive jubilation in hospital with the staff going as far as hiring a DJ for the sack party….. d song, “finally” by Dbanj was on repeated rotation all through d party dt lasted for close to 51 hours….
