The Lebanese owned Chocolat Royal at 267A, AIM Plaza, Etim Inyang Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos, was yesternight shutdown by NAFDAC over allegations of using loads of expired products in making their pastries, ice creams and tea. They
allegedly intentionally buy these products that have few months of validity when ordering from abroad because the manufacturers sell then with great discounts.

The alarm was blown by a Nigerian graduate employee working with them as a cleaner but was trained in Austria. They don’t only use expired products, they also use contraband products. Some of the products found in their store room had 2001 and 2005 expiry dates. These products were carted away by the NAFDAC officials last night…… Lagosians r now protesting dt d place shld b re-opened wt immediate effect as they can’t survive a day without buying chocolate n cakes 4rm there…..
