NCC fine: MTN Nigeria agrees to pay N330bn over three years

  
The Telco has announced that it has come to an agreement with the Nigerian government over the $3.9bn fine issued to them by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) for not deactivating unregistered SIM cards before the deadline.

MTN has agreed to pay N330bn ( $1.671bn ) over the course of 3 years. N50bn has already been paid in “good faith” on 24 Feb., the balance of N280bn, which will be paid in instalments with N30bn paid each year in 2016 and 2017, then N55bn paid twice a year for 2018 and 2019…. provided dt Nigerians support them by loading more call credits….
