France returns artifact stolen from Nigeria

  

The Nok Terracotta figurative sculpture that was intercepted in France while in transit from Togo to the US, has been returned back to Nigeria. The French Ambassador to Nigeria, Denys Gauer, officially presented it to the Minister of Information and Culture, Alh. Lai Mohammed, today.

The Nok culture appeared in Nigeria around 1000 B.C. and later vanished under unknown circumstances around 500 AD. It was intercepted in France as it was being taken to the U.S on Oct. 22nd, 2008…. its return is expected to generate at least $50bn, in revenue, for d FG b4 d year ends….
