I’d like to call the attention of the relevant authorities to the menacing and pitiable condition the Nigeria lawschool, Lagos campus, is subjecting it’s students to. All lawschool students are required to run a 3month externship programme before commencing our bar finals.
However most students occupy the hostels during this period, as most of us come from different parts of Nigeria to study here. It is so shocking how the lagos campus is run. To stay for the 3months, most campuses collected a paltry sum of 10k and still provide students with the basics, light and water.
In lagos, students were told to pay 50k to stay in the regular hostel while students occupying the executive wing of the school hostel were made to pay 200k. Despite all the money collected from over 500 students, we have no electricity or proper water supply.
They chased all the food vendors away, the ones available now sell nasty food. Please how do we survive like this? This is not encouraging because most of us feel exploited in all ramifications. Its frusterating because no body seems to have an answer for the lack of basics in school even after collecting all the money they asked for.
Also, for fear of jeopardising our bar finals most people cannot protest this actions of the schools management. Hoping that this message gets to the council of legal education and other relevant authorithies to look into the matter as soon as possible. Our success in lawschool also depends on a conducive and study friendly environment. Thank you.
