In January, a picture of Murtaza Ahmadi, 5, from Afghanistan wearing a football shirt made from a nylon bag penned with the name “Messi” went viral on social media and was seen by Messi himself. Messi then decided he wanted to give him a real shirt, which sparked a worldwide search for him.
He was tracked down to Jaghori District, Ghazni, Afghanistan, and today, he now has a real one to wear, a football and two shirts were given to him today by Messi. Both were signed by with the words “con mucho cariño, Leo”, which translates to “with much love, Leo.”
In an interview, his father, Arif Ahmadi, said: “This little kid really loves Messi and football. It is not possible for us to buy a jersey for him. Because I am a simple farmer. So the kids decided to use the nylon.” After receiving the jerseys, Murtaza said: “I love Messi and my shirt says Messi loves me.”…. no homo….
