They were all members of the same family and were found dead in their apartment on Tuesday, shot in the head. They were, 23-yr-old Deah Shaddy Barakat, his wife, Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, 21, and her sister, Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19. The killer, Craig Stephen Hicks, who
is an atheist, turned himself in at the police station after killing them.
Mr Barakat was a dental student at the University of North Carolina. He also volunteered with a charity providing emergency dental care to children in the Palestinian Authority. Police authorities say Hicks may have killed the victims over a parking space dispute.
