A 23-year-old man, identified as Ikenna James, has been arrested by the police in Ogun State, in connection with the r#pe and brut@l k#lling of his neighbor, Oluwatoshin Adefisayo, 29.

The suspect and his accomplice, his friend who is currently at large, broke into the victim’s apartment through the ceiling while she was fast asleep at night. They allegedly r#ped her before str#ngling her to de@th.

Both suspect and deceased, a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, were living in the same compound in Ogijo area of the state, where the unfortunate incident occurred.

According to the command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, other neighbours including the parents of the suspect woke up in the morning only to discover that the apartment of the deceased had been broken into.

Oyeyemi added that the neighbours immediately invited the local vigilante to the scene, and while at the scene, Ikenna was seen coming down from the ceiling where he has been hiding after the d@stardly act.

“During interrogation, the suspect whose partner in crime is currently on the run, confessed to committing the crime, he said they decided to k#ll the victim after r#ping her because they discovered that she recognised them.

Ikenna parents who described his arrest as good radiance to bad rubbish said they have already given up on him as he is the black sheep of the family. They also appealed to authority concerned to ensure that appropriate pu#ishment is awarded to him,” he said.
