The Lagos state government has declared a state of emergency on various dilapidated highways and carriages within the state. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday ordered the massive construction work on critical roads across the state beginning from Monday 14th October, 2019.
The governor who had been in a series of meetings with eight engineering firms said they had been given the mandate to immediately mobilise their equipment on the sites and commence major construction works on the identified roads.
The Governor said he was aware of the pains Lagosians were experiencing in the past few days which was compounded by heavy rainfall. He appealed to Lagosians to bear with the government while efforts were being made to bring permanent relief to them.
