Cover Girl’s first male ambassador posts racist African tweets, calls it a country in his apology

At age 17, James Charles broke barriers last year and became CoverGirl’s first male spokesperson. But yesterday, Charles tweeted: “‘I can’t believe we’re going to Africa today omg what if we get Ebola.” He also tweeted about the fact that their is no internet access in the continent. .

Charles ardently defended his remarks. He initially blocked tweeters who called out the lunacy of his tone-deaf tweets. Several hours later, he removed the tweet and issued an apology, but then, he ended up calling Africa a country.
