FIRS shuts Glo offices, others over failure to remit N24.3bn tax

  

Yesterday, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) closed down Globacom Ltd offices in Lagos for failure to remit N24.3bn in Value Added Tax (VAT). FIRS also closed down Erin Petroleum Nig. Ltd, formerly known as Camac Petroleum Ltd, for failure to remit N107.3m and $10.6m respectively.

FIRS officials, led by the Director of Enforcement, Emeka Obiagwu, sealed off all Glo’s work stations, such as the Glo Towers at Mike Adenuga Close, GloWorld, at Adeola Odeku, and the service station at 17, Saka Tinubu Street…. a popular Glo ambassador wt Jheri curl was nearly locked inside….
