The traditionalists have called on the Pres. Buhari to declare the 20th of August, a public holiday to allow traditionalists to observe their own holiday since Christian and Muslim holidays are scattered all over the calendar.

The President, Association of African Traditional Religion of Nigeria and Overseer, Chief Ifasegun Elegusi, applauded Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbeshola, for declaring the 20th of August a public holiday for traditionalists in the state.

He also implored the Senate and the house of Representatives to pass the 20th of August date into law as a public holiday to afford traditionalists a chance to celebrate their own festival as this would be in the spirit of love, equity and fairness…. and it’d put smiles on d strong faces of Sango n Amadioha….
